Hundreds arrested in Wales during illegal immigration crackdown

RECORD arrests on suspected illegal workers were recorded in Wales last year.
Operations targeted businesses such as car washes, nail bars, and barber shops as part of a broader crackdown aimed at reducing illegal migration.In 2025, a total of 1,320 raids were mounted in Wales, resulting in 649 arrests - both figures marking an increase from the previous year.
Enforcement officers targeted sectors such as restaurants and construction sites across the country.
The crackdown complemented sweeping reforms announced by UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood.
She said: "There is no place for illegal working in our communities.
