Starmer is warned on Liz Truss crash barb

LIZ Truss's lawyers have told Sir Keir Starmer to stop saying the ex-PM crashed the economy.
The cease-and-desist letter says the Prime Minister's claims are defamatory and "false and misleading".
It also suggests his comments in this vein a month before last summer's general election "were likely to materially impact public opinion" at the polls when Ms Truss lost her Norfolk seat.
Ms Truss entered No 10 in September 2022 but announced her resignation less than seven weeks later.
It followed adverse market reaction and soaring mortgage costs after a mini-Budget which announced wide-ranging tax cuts.
