RAF chief cleared of sex assault after boozy kiss

Highly decorated Wing Commander Jolyon Goodwin, a top British officer in the international defence alliance, claimed he had "misread her values" when he kissed the Scandinavian woman on the lips.

He told a court martial the incident had been an "honest mistake".

The hearing in Sennelager, Germany, was told the woman reacted angrily and said married Goodwin "stuck his tongue in her mouth" at the 1980s and 90s-themed summer party.

She told the court she had been the "plus one" of another RAF officer at the disco, held near Allied Air Command HQ at Ramstein air base, south-west Germany last July.
