Councillor Peter Schwier, Essex County Council's cabinet member for environment, waste reduction and recycling, said: “Essex, like the rest of the world, is facing a nature crisis. But now, with the Essex Local Nature Recovery Strategy, we have a powerful plan to reverse that. I urge everyone to get involved. Together, we can build a better future for people and wildlife

LNRS will help wildlife move more freely and thrive in healthier ecosystems, enable communities to enjoy greener spaces that benefit wellbeing and boost the local economy, with opportunities in sustainable land management, farming and green tourism.
And Essex is leading the way in this initiative. Minister for Nature and MP for Coventry, Mary Creagh, said: "We are a proud nation of nature lovers and our iconic landscapes and charismatic wildlife make Britain great. However, our countryside is quieter and emptier of wildlife than ever.
