Power, passion and potent rivalries in Victorian high society are at the heart of new drama The Forsytes.
Inspired by John Galsworthy's The Forsyte Saga novels, which were previously adapted for TV in 1967 and 2002, the six-parter, penned by Poldark's Debbie Horsfield, centres on the titular wealthy clan, who own a London stockbroking firm.
The series begins in 1877 when caring Jolyon 'Jo' Forsyte (Danny Griffin) - the son of company chairman Jolyon Snr (Stephen Moyer) - marries savvy widow Frances (Tuppence Middleton).
