BABY'S FIRST FESTIVAL?

HERE'S YOUR SURVIVAL GUIDE

BABY'S FIRST FESTIVAL?

We all love festivals, but, when you're celebrating with your baby for the very first time, it feels even more memorable. It could be a special day for your baby such as a naming ceremony, the family's religious rituals for the baby, their first birthday, or a festival such as Diwali, Holi, Ramzan, or Christmas that you're celebrating for the first time with your precious addition. A lot of preparation goes into planning the special day, right from shopping for matching outfits to the detailing in decorations. How can you, as new parents, prepare yourselves to make it a joyful event for everyone without overwhelming your little one? We're letting experts and experience talk.

Akriti Gupta, Founder & CEO - Loopie, a baby gear brand, reflects on her own journey. “I realised early on that the day is really about creating memories, not ticking boxes.” It's a reminder that, while rituals and relatives add richness to the day, your baby's comfort and happiness should come first. Akriti shares tips that will help new parents survive the big festivals.

PLAN AHEAD

Organisation is your best ally. Lay out outfits, pack the baby bag, and finalise travel plans the day before. This ensures you're present in the moment rather than scrambling for essentials.

COMFORT OVER COUTURE

Festivals tempt us to dress babies up in adorable clothes, but soft, breathable fabrics are a must. Cute outfits are great, but comfort must win. (Editor's note: Choose clothes that you can easily swap out and do diaper changes in.) STICK TO ROUTINE Festivals rarely run to schedule but try to maintain nap and feeding times. Babies thrive on rhythm, and a well-rested child is less likely to be cranky. Even a short nap in a quiet room works wonders.
