5G to Constitute Over 50% of Mobile Subscriptions in India by 2028

With the 5G launch in India, the country is looking at networks faster-speed that facilitate the digital economy to venture out into new avenues of opportunity.

Many experts since the official launch have estimated that the cumulative economic impact of 5G connectivity in India to be around $1 trillion by 2035. There have been many reports and studies that support this estimate too including the latest Ericsson Mobility Report which also adds to the projections with its findings. According to the report, 5G connections will cover more than 50 per cent of total mobile phone connections in India by 2028. The report further states that the total number of 5G connections in India will cross the critical point of one billion by the end of the year 2022. And by the end of 2028, the same number will be more than five billion in India.
