Teaming Up to Tackle Tough Challenges

WILL INFLATION and recession derail the socially beneficial intentions of corporate leaders? That question hung over this year’s convocation of the Fortune CEO Initiative CEOI), a by-invitation-only forum for leaders committed to using their companies’ business models to solve global social problems.
Happily, the answer was a resounding no. The nearly 100 CEOs and luminaries who gathered in Palm Beach for two days in November agreed that a downturn wouldn't stall their momentum in making their businesses more sustainable or bringing more diversity to their workforces. If anything, some said, they could compete better in a tough economy by doubling down on their values. Some highlights:
