Cue the leadership vs. legacy debate. Read, a 30-year WPP veteran and CEO since 2018, has steered the holding company through a major transformation, rebranding GroupM to WPP Media, consolidating legacy agencies, and building its proprietary AI platform, WPP Open. Each of these can be described as big, bold steps. He even dubbed AI the catalyst of advertising's “fifth industrial revolution” at a recent forum in Mumbai, showing where the company is placing its biggest bets.
