WHEN I DEBUTED my first collection in 2006 after graduating from Central Saint Martins, I wanted to break away from tradition to create sculptural pieces fitting for a new age bride. During the initial years, my approach was considered by many as a little left of centre, but it didn’t deter us from continuing down our path. For years now, I have not followed any rules, but made my own. We stayed true to the times we live in—and are fortunate that our patrons believe in our inimitable design language. This has only grown exponentially, and this demand for a change of aesthetic was long overdue.

In these fast-paced and dynamic times where there is so much awareness and awakening around us, the old rules just don’t apply. Regardless of the size of one’s business or years of operation, industry players have had to think on their feet, think digital first and work their way through an increasingly aware consumer landscape. It is originality and innovation that are the new cornerstones of success and today a brand has to follow and make its own rules.
