The Dolphins will enter the 2020 season with a much-improved roster, but making the playoffs still would end up being a major accomplishment

Will better be good enough?

Well, here we are, talking about the start of a regular season we weren’t so sure at one point was going to happen, that we’re still not 100 percent certain will reach its conclusion.

Yep, these are are strange times, and they have made everything about this 2020 season feel different.

And that sure applies when it comes to trying to predict what’s going to happen.

It truly is an almost impossible exercise simply because there are too many variables at play, pretty much all of them related to the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic.

But that’s not going to stop NFL writers from making those fearless forecasts because, well, that’s what NFL writers do.

So what’s the prediction when it comes to the Miami Dolphins?

We can start off by saying they’re a better team than they were in 2019, not that that represents a great revelation.

In terms of personnel, let’s just say the first team that Brian Flores coached in Miami was a little talent deficient. OK, it was a lot talent-deficient.

The 2020 edition? It’s at least competitive, thanks to the vast number of offseason acquisitions that addressed most positions.

But how much elite talent do the Dolphins really have?
