SOAK IN THE SUNSET ATOP MOUNT PHOUSI Don’t let the “Mount” part throw you off, the 100-metre high Buddhist temple is easily reached by 355 steps. Get there around 45 minutes before sunset to secure your spot on the cosy hilltop for dazzling views across Luang Prabang. Watching the sun flow from bright orange into deep purple as it drops below the neighbouring mountains and Mekong is a must for all visitors. Tickets cost 20,000 kip (Dhs8) and you must dress conservatively.
