Top 8 Home Decor Ideas For This Winter
Better Interiors
|November 2016
As we bid farewell to the melodious patter of the rains, we welcome the calming winter with open arms. While the cool winds cast their spell in varying degrees across our cities, all we need are spaces filled with colour, warmth and a beautiful ambience for that much-needed chai and chatter. Rohit Kapoor, Founder and Creative Head of New Delhi-based luxe lifestyle brand Nivasa suggests eight arresting styles for two vital areas of our homes; living and dining. Recreate... and indulge.
Statement Living
1 Nothing says warmth like a fireplace. Pairing it with an elaborate mirror is a great way to add opulence and luxury to the living area. Rather than merely decorating the fireplace with conventional accessories such as candles and logs of wood, it is a great idea to add colour and vibrancy by adorning it with flowers. Furthermore, the space can be enhanced with the help of a striking light fixture. The exotic colour — Spicy Mustard — and the unique shape of the side-by-side chair makes it a conversation starter and adds vibrancy to the living room. The idea is to balance contrasting colours to create an inviting setting. In this case, it can be achieved by incorporating Airy Blue — which is a Pantone colour opposite to the yellow family on the colour wheel — in the form of artworks and decorative items.
