Everyday Warmth
Better Interiors
|May 2019
Architect Dishaa Saigal Khurana converts a small apartment at Lalbaug in Mumbai into a warm, elegant space with a homely disposition.

We all have our own idea of a perfect home and Pakshal Sanghvi of Sanghvi Realty, the owner of the house I am about to describe, isn’t any different. A stray discussion one evening ended with Pakshal asking his close friend, architect Dishaa Saigal Khurana, to design his 2BHK home at Lalbaug in Mumbai. “Pakshal has seen my previous work and has a broader sense of my design ideologies which happen to be in sync with his ideas,” says Dishaa. For this very reason, Dishaa quite organically came on board. The client’s brief was to create a holistic space that he and his family could come back to after a long day at work. It was to have a pleasant vibe and reflected warmth and serenity in every nook. More specifically, he wanted an inviting living room with an open kitchen. The house was a compact 600 sq ft, so it was also important to have enough storage without it looking cluttered.
