Queen Latifah turns justice-seeking vigilante in an action-packed reboot of The Equalizer

After MacGyver, Hawaii Five-O and Magnum P.I., it’s now the turn of The Equalizer to get a slick, action-packed new reboot.
Based on the 1980s TV show starring Edward Woodward and two blockbuster movies with Denzel Washington, this New York-set version stars Queen Latifah as enigmatic single mum Robyn McCall, a former CIA intelligence officer who begins a new career as a vigilante – AKA the Equalizer – following a chance encounter with a young female student framed for murder.
What follows is a dangerous investigation involving bombs, a murdered attorney, mercenary war criminals, and a villainous auto executive.
‘Robyn’s deeply committed and loyal to a fault,’ says Queen Latifah. ‘She gets burned by the CIA and wants nothing more to do with them, but when she sees something happening to this young girl, she decides to get involved.
