The difference is that Laila (a character essayed by Kalki Koechlin in the 2014 film, Margarita With A Straw) is affected by cerebral palsy. Director Shonali Bose’s sensitive handling of the topic hit home one point: being disabled doesn’t necessarily mean being free of sexual desires. Talking about sex in India is hard, more so for someone with a disability. Asking questions on improving sex life is a whole other ball game.
