Trucks Built To Climb Snow-packed Mountains And Tailgates That Open Six Different Ways, The Detroit Auto Show Is A Mouth-dropping, Eye-opening Experience.

Tailgating Trucks To Make You Drool

SUBFREEZING TEMPERATURES, SNOW AND ICE, YET MORE THAN 750,000 PEOPLE STILL COME FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD TO THE ANNUAL DETROIT AUTO SHOW EACH JANUARY.

Officially known as the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), it started in 1907 and has been going strong ever since. With Detroit literally built around automobiles, it’s a great place to host the unveiling of vehicles coming on to the market.

We flew into Detroit on a Friday afternoon to weather slightly different than what we’d left in Texas—frigid temperatures that would keep most southerners inside and snowstorms on the horizon. But we forged on to the Cobo Center, eager to check out the new tailgating vehicles that we could salivate over.

When we first walked in, we saw a full-size Chevy Z71 pickup truck that looked a little off to us. Turns out it was made entirely of Legos. We spoke with some Chevrolet reps there who said it took 18 workers over 2,000 hours to build it using over 300,000 Legos. Impressive is an understatement.
