Denbighshire charity seeks home for hairy sci-fi orphan
-

TRUSTEES at a North Wales animal rehoming charity are looking for a permanent home for the latest creature to come into their care. The Poor Paws Animal Shelter in Rhyl is well used to dealing with strays and abandoned pets such as cats, dogs and rabbits, but staff arriving at work on Saturday morning were shocked to find a CHEWBACCA chained up outside.
Manageress Hildergarde Lentil told us: “Tethered to the gates was an hirsute, seven-and-a-half foot biped with a bullet belt and a plasma bowcaster.”
“At first we thought someone was playing a prank, or perhaps a student was returning from a fancy dress party dressed as Bungle out of Rainbow, but it quickly became clear that this really was a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk.”
Mrs Lentil continued: "He was disoriented and unsteady on his legs and his fur was a little unkempt. But, apart from some unsightly winnets around his anal glands, he looked quite well looked after.”
The charity is now appealing for urgent food donations, until a permanent home can be found for the exotic space-orphan.
