Bringing together the best from the salon and wellness industry, the event saw a successful exchange of ideas and knowledge. It opened many doors to opportunities for entrepreneurs as everyone got to learn something new and take with them essentials, which will push the industry to achieve a new milestone.
The sixth edition of Salon and Wellness Congress 2017 recently concluded on 11 April 2017 at JW Marriott, New Delhi, Aerocity. The event was organised by Franchise India, in association with My Glamm, powered by VLCC and with media partnership Times Now. The inaugural session focused on where we are and where we can reach in the growing wellness industry in the coming years.
THE STATE OF THE BEAUTY & WELLNESS INDUSTRY
The inaugural session was addressed by Nitin Passi, Director, Lotus Herbals and Anurag Sharma, Managing Director, Shree Baidyanath Ayurved Bhawan. The session had both the speakers giving their respective views about the wellness industry, where they see the industry now and what the future holds for it. Other major topics on which they spoke included globalisation of the beauty industry, promoting the industry through the Make in India initiative, taking beauty and wellness to the next level and addressing the skills gap to ensure availability of well trained staff.

FEELING GOOD IS THE NEW LOOK
The se.; Mridumesh Kumar Rai, Business Director, Park Avenue; and Pushkaraj Shenai, Chief Executive Officer, Lakme Lever. They discussed about the changing wellness and salon market at length. Kalwani of Juice Salons and Shenai of Lakme Lever discussed how the Indian customers are spending in grooming themselves at salons and spas. Discussing the men’s grooming session, Rai of Park Avenue stated that men these days are conscious about their looks and are spending both time and money on themselves in order to match up the latest fashion. Also, he said fashion and looking good always work together and people have figured this out as they are investing time and resources to look perfect every day.
