When Tushar Ved thought of turning entrepreneur, his mind raced with many ideas of which he chose to get international brands to India. Today, he can look back at the journey of Major Brands and feel elated at having made the right choice.
For Tushar Ved, whose family was engaged in business, looking for a job soon after graduation certainly wasn’t the right option. Therefore, on spotting traction in the Indian retail market, he floated an enterprise called Major Brands, which started bringing global brands to India to cater to women clientele who had a penchant for international fashion. Today, Major Brands has to its credit several milestones. “There has been constant growth in the market and there are many players now. But we can claim to be a pioneer in opening the doors for international brands,” says Tushar Ved, President, Major Brands. The USP of Major Brands lies in achieving the highest sales per square per foot in every brand that they have in the malls, given that 99% of their stores are in shopping malls.
