In terms of impact at the shows, the lightback is the flavour of the season, says DAVE BROWN. Here he advises on how to make the most of pairings to enhance type and strength of colour.
ZEBRA FINCHES
The diluting effect of the lightback mutation makes for a really eye-catching zebra finch. And, while this mutation can be combined with other colours, such as fawn and silver, it is the normal lightback that most commonly makes an impact on the show bench. This certainly seems to be the case over the past few show seasons and quality pairs have often taken top honours at specialist events.
