Še živo se spominjam pomorskega krsta in celotedenske priprave nanj, ko smo prvič prestopili prag Pomorske šole. Pravzaprav se je priprava na ta dogodek začela že veliko prej, že med šolskimi počitnicami po zaključku osemletke. Priprave in preverjanja, ali smo iz pravega testa (predvsem dijakov višjih letnikov), pa so trajala že od informativnega dneva zgodaj spomladi. Tudi sam sem vedel, da bom po krstu postal pomorščak in za vedno zavezan bogu Neptunu, barkam in morju. Čeprav je bilo včasih težko, sem dogodek in vstop v svet modrih uniform z zlatimi trakovi na rokavu pričakoval z velikim navdušenjem.
