Sri Lanka was the proud hosts of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2013. The Meeting had the theme of 'Growth with Equity: Inclusive Development'.

Among the many wildlife attractions available in Sri Lanka, whale watching has recently become one of the most sought after activities. The nutrient rich waters around the Island are home to 28 species of marine mammals that includes whales, dolphins and the dugong.

Homemade jam has a whole new meaning, especially in December. It’s about preserving for the future. Nothing is so sweetly personal as fruit that has been soaked, softened, stirred, sweetened and preserved in a bottle by someone dear.

From lagoons to marshlands, cruising along the E03, Sri Lanka’s second expressway offers the best seats in the house for snap shot glimpses, be it the first taste of the Island or a memorable farewell.

From a small 10 by 10 retail area along Galle Road in 1992, fast forward 22 years and Preethi and Neelamani Jayawardena have arrived at the doors of their nine-storey mega store, marking a monumental success in the retail industry.

AND SMALL..." 'Yala' as we fondly know it, is just one section ('Block I' which is only 141 km2) of approximately 1,750 km2 of the Yala Protected Area Complex. Today a thriving leopard population in Block I has received global acclaim as one of the most dense in the world and has become a tourist hotspot.
