Things You May find Hidden in my Ear എന്ന കവിതാ സമാഹാരം പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഈ കൃതി Derek Walcott Potery Prize, American Book Award എന്നിവ കരസ്ഥമാക്കി. 2023 നവംബര്‍ 19-ന് റാഫ അതിര്‍ത്തി കടക്കുന്നതിനിടെ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പട്ടാളം തടവിലിട്ട് ക്രൂരപീഡനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് വിധേയമാക്കി. രണ്ടു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞ് അബു തോഹായെ മോചിപ്പിച്ചു. മനസ്സ് വിറങ്ങലിച്ചുപോകുന്ന അനുഭവങ്ങളാണ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റേത്. നാം അനുഭവിക്കാത്തതെല്ലാം കെട്ടുകഥകളാകുന്ന കാലത്ത് തീര്‍ച്ചയായും ഈ കവിയുടെ നൊന്തുനീറിയ എഴുത്തിന് പ്രാധാന്യമുണ്ട്. അവയെ മൊഴിമാറ്റുകയാണ് കവിയും ചരിത്രാധ്യാപകനുമായ ലേഖകന്‍.
