Bisnis perikanan nasional termasuk akuakultur juga terdampak dengan merebaknya pandemo covid-19. Tak terkecuali komoditas primadona nasional, yakni udang yang terpengaruh cukup besar dari segi harga. Diakui Frans Antoni, Wakil Ketua Shrimp Club Lampung (SCL), harga udang drop sejak pandemi Covid. Padahal ia menyebut, seperti tahun-tahun sebelumnya seiring tingginya kurs dolar AS terhadap rupiah, harga udang naik karena udang merupakan komoditas ekspor. Tapi saat ini malah harga udang justru anjlok.

“Termasuk permintaan udang di dalam negeri sendiri juga merosot karena hotel dan restoran tutup. Yang masih berjalan hanya permintaan pasar swalayan, namun volumenya tidak banyak. Terjadi pergeseran pola permintaan dari sebelumnya food service ke food retail yakni supermarket,” ujar Frans kepada TROBOS Aqua baru-baru ini.
