Chairperson of Lampung Aquaculture Practitioners Communication Forum (FKPA) Taufik Hidayat said, as a cultivator his party did not blame the feed mill for raising the selling price of feed because it was still mostly imported feed ingredients so the price went up. "Yes indeed the US dollar exchange rate increase against the rupiah has been more than 10 percent so it is natural that the price of shrimp feed and medicines rose," Taufik told Trobos Aqua in Bandarlampung, recently.
While the selling price of shrimp had fallen since the end of 2017, even though the middle of 2018 began to recover. As said by Lampung Warehousing Practitioner, Hanung Hernadi, the dollar exchange rate which was initially only around Rp. 13 thousand more and rose to more than Rp. 14,000 did not affect the selling price of shrimp at all. "This is the unique of shrimp, even though the selling price of exports is in the US dollar exchange rate," he admitted.
