Today show co-anchor, journalist, and dad AI Roker takes family breakfast seriously especially around the holidays. In his new cookbook, AI Roker's Recipes to Live By, he teams up with his daughter Courtney, a recipe developer and trained chef, to preserve dozens of family favorites. Here's just one from their breakfast table.

A TYPICAL ROKER HOLIDAY

AL ROKER: We have a house in the Hudson Valley, and we go up a couple of days before Christmas. We decorate our house in the city and the house upstate. We have a decent collection of ornaments, including some given to us when the kids were born, so now they're kind of family heirlooms.

WHAT'S ON OUR HOLIDAY MENU

AL: Holiday breakfast is big: bacon, cinnamon buns, scrambled eggs, chicken-apple sausage, and waffles. Dinner is usually turkey or ham, cranberry sauce (just the stuff in the can), stuffing, cornbread, Brussels sprouts or string beans, and sweet potato casserole.
