WHEN ENGINEERING MEETS DESIGN AND LEGACY

At Royal Enfield's Chennai campus, Studio Lotus weaves craftsmanship, engineering, and sustainability into a space that echoes the brand's rugged identity.
As the world's oldest global motorcycle brand in continuous production, Royal Enfield holds the title of the largest mid-size motorcycle manufacturer.
With a globally recognised rugged and authentic aesthetic, the new global headquarters and technology centre in Chennai seeks to embody the brand's philosophy; merging craftsmanship with cutting-edge engineering.
Designed by Studio Lotus, the campus not only fosters cross-disciplinary collaboration across Marketing, Design, and Engineering but also reflects Royal Enfield's free-spirited identity, balancing functionality with unpretentious style.
Sustainability, ergonomics, and meticulous attention to detail are woven into the very fabric of the design, creating a future-ready campus rooted in a century-old legacy.Responding to the site and landscape
The facility is thoughtfully laid out on an L-shaped site, making the most of its northern and southern exposures. A circulation path wraps around the building, doubling as a fire tender route and a mini test track for new motorcycles. Adjacent landscaped belts provide lush greenery and visual relief throughout the campus. Sequential blocks, connected via courtyards, offer flexible public and semi-public spaces, allowing informal interactions while enhancing natural ventilation.
