This issue of ITLN has a focus on 2022 with both Cover Story and the Industry Report explaining what to expect from the upcoming year. The Cover Story specifically notes that 2022 will not be void of disruption and expect a continuation of what happened in the last two years.

The November December 2023 issue of Indian Transport & Logistics News is about automotive logistics, the shipping industry and the IMEC corridor. We have a Cover Story that argues that the time is ripe for India to localise its automotive supply chain and reduce dependency on imports, particularly from China while in the Industry Report, we discuss the future of Indian shipping with ports connected digitally and physically.

The July-August 2023 issue of ITLN has stories on Indian e-commerce logistics, air cargo and the country’s logistics competitiveness.

Zinal Dedhia writes about the logistics competitiveness of India in her Industry Report. “Improving connectivity within the country and speeding shipments in and out of India will position the country as a geographically superior transit hub and key layover spot.” she wrote. 

The May June 2023 issue of ITLN focuses on sustainability with Zinal Dedhia’s Cover Story reads, “Businesses are starting to look at ways to reduce their carbon footprint. Yet, implementing green logistics methods into effect sometimes requires a considerable initial investment.”

Rail is a more sustainable, lower emission offering than hundreds of trucks moving cargo over 1,200 kilometres. Thus, Jyothi Shanakaran has a Special Report on Dedicated Freight Corridors.   

Spotlight by Laksmi Ajay takes stock of how perishable logistics is rising to myriad challenges it faces amidst the booming demand for fresh products that have risen exponentially in the last few years.

The March April 2023 issue of ITLN has Cover Story on cargo drones. Drone logistics in India is reaching new heights by enabling delivery in challenging environments. This has also attracted the government’s interest, which has resulted in their support and special regulations for drone delivery

In the first issue of 2023, we tried to narrow down our focus on the most important Indian logistics development of 2022: The launch of the National Logistics Policy (NLP). With her Cover Story, Lakshmi Ajay described the policy launch as 'laying the groundwork for the future'. Multimodal logistics parks planned across the country can overhaul Indian logistics forever. However, with his Industry report, Libin Chacko Kurian explored the gaps and hurdles that may stop it from achieving its full potential. ITLN Nov Dec 2022 Issue

The Indian maritime infrastructure took a centre stage in the last issue of this year as the Cover Story focuses on how ports of this country are positioned in the policy interventions of the current government and in the priorities of Indian businesses.  Focus deals with the digitalization aspect of the same industry and tries to map out the current status by identifying milestones achieved and gaps left out.

The September-October Issue of ITLN is attracting your attention to the cold chain industry in the country and particularly on pharmaceutical and perishable movements. 

The Cover Story by Libin Chacko Kurian tries to put the focus of the pharma supply chain back to where it should be: patient care and patient cure. The stakeholders talk about challenges, for example, the sheer lack of visibility and put forth technologies like blockchain against fake products as solutions.  

This time we have two Interviews. Manjula Nair talks to Anurag Dubey and Ramnath Satpute of PLUSS Cold Chain about the growth in the Indian cold chain sector, while Lakshmi Ajay talks with Intugine Technologies’ Harshit Shrivastava about how visibility can optimize supply chains.

Zinal Dedhia in her Industry Report on the Indian cold chain industry writes about the rising demand for frozen and asks the question if India’s cold chain infrastructure is ready to deliver.

We also have a Special Report by Lakshmi Ajay which breaks down the emergence of digital twins in Indian logistics. With digital twins, businesses can adopt a more holistic, end-to-end approach,” she writes.

ITLN July - August 2022 Issue
This issue of ITLN has a special focus on e-commerce as at least the Cover Story and
Special Report touches upon some of the most important elements in its journey: last mile  and micro fulfilment.

Titled “Ride: India’s last-mile growth spurt to scale new heights” Manula Nair’s Cover Story helps you navigate the twists and turns of the Indian last-mile delivery ecosystem. She cites the May 2021 study by the market research firm RedSeer which found that the overall road logistics constitutes ~8% of India’s GDP, with expectations high for markets touching $ 6 billion in profits by 2024.  She also talks to some of the last mile delivery companies, aggregators and technology firms to understand the dynamics.

In her Special Report, Lakshmi Ajay decodes the mythical ‘dark stores’ or ‘micro fulfilment centres that are the backbone of the instant delivery wars of e-retailers and grocers and are shifting closer to the consumer. How do they function and what is their future in India’s fast- changing e-commerce landscape? 

Focus, written by Jyothi Shankaran, reads “The confidence with which Indian companies in the last-mile delivery, warehousing and supply chain space talk about taking tech challenges head-on is an absolute delight. What’s holding them? Or is there anything holding them back at all?”

Libin Chacko Kurian, in his Report, lists eight things that the Indian logistics Industry wants its government to do. He talks to industry experts and stakeholders to understand how the industry perceives the government initiatives and asked some crucial questions: Are they on the right track? Is there anything they are missing? And what should be their next focus?

Lakshmi Ajay’s Cover Story brings the focus of this issue to the Indian warehousing industry. “With technological advancements, consolidation, government support, newer business models, and investment coming into the space post the pandemic, the sector may well be set for a dream run for the next five years,” she wrote.
Along the same line, Zinal Dedhia tried to understand the impact of automation in the Indian warehousing sector through her Special Report. She spoke to industry professionals to get their thoughts on completely automated warehouses and what the future holds.
Libin Chacko Kurian has put the Spotlight on the French family-owned contract logistics company FM Logistic and its vision for the Indian market.  
In his Industry Report, Kurian also wrote about the challenges in Indian air cargo and how artificial intelligence or machine learning can tackle them. He wrote, “AI, ML and data visualisation have already proved not just in managing the cargo business for airlines but also in improving their yields.”
The Event Reports on E-commerce Logistics Summit 2022 talks in length about how the e-commerce sector is quickly expanding with the adoption of new technology and client satisfaction.

Indian Transport & Logistics News November-December 2021 Issue

This issue of ITLN features the Indian port and terminals industry in its Cover Story and talks about the predictions for the next 10 years which includes intense competition, modernisation, automation and connecting hinterlands in a multimodal way.
