In this issue

"As spring moves onto summer and longer days it is almost time for the start of the main competitive quilt show season. Quilters in Scotland and the north have just been treated to The Quilting Show in Glasgow and we sent Joanna O’Neill along to review the winning quilts for us. Next month I’ll be reviewing the British Quilt and Stitch Village Show in Uttoxeter and then it will be Helen’s turn and Quilts UK.

More floral inspiration for you this month; Flower Garden features fabrics from the Bed of Roses collection; a classical floral fabric collection. More up tempo and modern is Radiant Blooms where Naomi Clarke has fussy cut flowers from a stunning Kaffe Fassett print. A trip to Japan during cherry blossom time might be on the bucket list for many people and Natalia Manley’s Cherry Blossom Geisha wall hanging is a wonderful representation of this. If fussy cutting is your thing, you might like to make the Hexagonal Table Topper. We make another pieced block in our Stars and Flowers block of the month quilt and Stuart Hillard has designed a great block in this month’s Stashbusting.

I’ve already mentioned the review of The Quilting Show in this month’s issue. We also sent Mandy Munroe further afield to review the Modern Quilt Guild’s annual show, QuiltCon, which this year was held in Nashville, Tennessee. I love how it moves around the different states in America. We take a look at the quilts inspired by the Mappa Mundi at a recent exhibition nearer to home at Hereford Cathedral and finally Chris Hammacott tells about the work of Edrica Huws whose work may have slipped under your radar. Helen Howes tells us about her quilts in First and Last and we meet Ystrad Mynach Quilters in Introducing."
