My first visit to America (shorthand for the USA but also the pair of continents) was tantamount to entering another dimension; one that I’d seen on TV and at the cinema, where they speak the same language, yet somehow it’s all a bit different.
After penning a love letter to the star-spangled States in our April supplement we found time for another visit, uncovering some Great American Escapes (page 65), with a special XL feature large enough to warrant its own internal cover.
The mode of transport was a little different for our intrepid editor at large, Joe Mortimer, who trundled across England’s green pastures only to arrive in the Big Smoke, where he discovered the city’s loftiest vantage point at Shangri-La Hotel At The Shard London (page 46).
And our features section continues with a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the coastal city of Jeddah (page 86) with a visit to a pair of high-end hotels; Sofitel Jeddah Corniche and Frontel Jeddah (page 88) ideal for Saudi staycations and bleisure breaks.
