Man is found dead after river tragedy

A MAN has tragically been found dead in a river after a huge emergency services presence raced to the scene.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing 'at least ten police cars' and fire engines near Nuttall Lane, off Bolton Street in Ramsbottom, last Sunday night.

It’s understood that police and paramedics were called to the River Irwell following reports of a concern for welfare of a man.
