Give teenagers a say on how their taxes are spent

if people don’t want 16/17 year olds to have the vote maybe they'd be ok if the youngsters didn’t have to pay tax, I paid tax at 16 with no saying on who gets to squander it. bigbob

Needless to say the usual suspects are bellyaching about 16 year olds being given the vote. I'd trust a 16 year old to use their vote wisely far more than the majority of senior citizens who are still struggling to come to terms with the fact that Britain no longer has an Empire. Alan Quay

If he wants 16 year olds to have a vote he's going to have to change laws like scrapping child benefit, smoking and drinking for starters. At least one good thing will be the media able to name criminals that where classed as too young to be named.
