Give teenagers a say on how their taxes are spent

if people don’t want 16/17 year olds to have the vote maybe they'd be ok if the youngsters didn’t have to pay tax, I paid tax at 16 with no saying on who gets to squander it. bigbob

Needless to say the usual suspects are bellyaching about 16 year olds being given the vote. I'd trust a 16 year old to use their vote wisely far more than the majority of senior citizens who are still struggling to come to terms with the fact that Britain no longer has an Empire. Alan Quay

Giving kids a vote. Its only a couple of months ago they were being taught how to wash their hands. EBG

Keir Starmer wants to give 16 year olds the vote. Says those who pay in should have a say. What a Pratt. What 16 year old has a job paying enough to pay taxes. If he wants 16 year olds to have a vote he's going to have to change laws like scrapping child benefit, smoking and drinking for starters. At least one good thing will be the media able to name criminals that where classed as too young to be named. Labour are so desperate to see off Reform party that next they'll be giving votes to 12 year olds. Joyce Brooks

Pub pints an unaffordable luxury now

Kier starmer has been to that many different countries he doesn’t know what's going on in England, he thinks giving pubs and clubs longer licensing to stay open is going to keep them open, nobody is using pubs and clubs because they have not got the money to go out more than one or two nights a week, half the price of drinks or beiter still go back to 1980s opening times and 1980s prices of drinks, a stoppy back after time was a luxury everyone thought was great. mettyesh Durham
