Girish Ramdas is the Co-founder and CEO of Magzter, a New York based start-up, with their Global back-office at Chennai, that has been making waves in the global digital publishing business. In just 5 years Magzter has crossed 38 million users from 150+ countries, with 10,000+ magazines from over 4,000 publishers from 50+ countries in more than 40 languages. Magzter has now become the World’s LARGEST and fastest growing multi-platform, global digital newsstand. He has more than 20 years of experience in cross-platform publishing, including print, mobile, and Web development. During this period, he has co-founded and run three successful start-up businesses in technology, content and digital space.
He was voted the CIOL Technology Person of the Year for 2012 for his contribution to the global digital publishing business. He was invited to speak at the prestigious World Magazine Congress in Rome in 2013 to address the world publishers on digital publishing and its future. He was also awarded the TiE Innovative Entrepreneur of the Year award for 2013 and recently was listed for the second time in the Fortune magazine's 40 under 40 list of global Indian Entrepreneurs. Magzter has also been awarded the TiE “Billion dollar baby” award for companies that they predict will soon be billion dollar companies.
He has enabled magazine companies to go digital and helps them monetize their content across the digital world. Girish's deep industry experience in online, mobile and publishing ecosystems has made him an expert in acquisition, marketing and monetizing digital content across platforms globally.
Prior to Magzter, he was the President of Dot Com Infoway (DCI) and Galatta Media. His duties included strategic marketing, partnership development, and monetizing content globally. DCI grew from a small team of 3 in 2000 to 300 by 2011 and was dealing with web, software and app development for clients globally.
In 2000, Girish also co-founded South India's largest entertainment portal www.galatta.com and published South India's first English language movie magazine in 2007 both of which continue to grow exponentially based on the strong foundation set by Girish during his tenure there.
Girish Ramdas was a State Rank holder in academics from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Chennai and holds an Engineering degree from the College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University Chennai.
Fun facts: He has earned six Indian national gold medals in rifle shooting and holds the national record in one event. He runs 5 - 10 kms everyday. He is an avid Tennis player and golfer too!.
Vijay is the Co-founder & President of Magzter Inc.
Vijay entered the IT and media world as the Founder & CEO of NTS, an IT services company offering integrated engineering solutions; design and development engineering, product testing, standards compliance and project management services, to global clients.
NTS merged with Dot Com Infoway (DCI) in June 2005 and Vijay became the Chief Technology Officer of DCI. As CTO, he managed the IT team; monitoring small to large integrated projects, architecture for complex web, mobile and systems applications and executing internal IT audits for compliance with industry-expected standards. He also served as Chairman of SEPG for the CMMI process.
In June 2008, Vijay initiated the Mobile Application Development and Marketing wing of Dot Com Infoway, called DCI Mobile Studios; a leading mobile application developer in India; creating and marketing mobile apps for iPhone/iPad, Android & BlackBerry. DCI Mobile Studios has numerous successful, user-favorite apps under its belt, having developed and marketed business utility apps, entertainment apps, gaming apps, movie-related apps and eBook apps to name a few.
In 2011, with a vision to impact the publishing industry with the growing mobile/tablet, Vijay co-founded Magzter Inc, currently the world's fastest growing digital newsstand and Asia's largest newsstand.
Endowed with a keen business intellect, Vijay has traveled all over the world dealing with C-level executives and clients for the past 15 years. His experience in IT and the media industry spans over 14 years.
Vijayakumar Radhakrishnan holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Madras University and a Master's degree in Management from the Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani, India. A deep passion for technology, innovative problem-solving skills and proficiency in the latest web and mobile trends has earned him the reputation of a result-driven technology leader.
John Paris began his career in broadcast news and was a CNN Radio News Anchor when he became fascinated by the potential of delivering news and information to handheld devices in 1999. He established CNN Mobile that year and went on to lead the design, development and marketing of CNN’s first mobile products and services, including the company’s earliest mobile websites and the first pan-global news text alert service in a strategic partnership with Nokia.
In 2006 John took an interest in leveraging digital platforms on behalf of print media and relocated to New York City to lead Mobile and Tablet Strategy for the magazine publishing giant Time Inc., where he supervised the launch of dozens of digital magazines and native apps along with mobile and tablet websites across the company’s 21 titles.
John has also been active in the digital advertising space, helping agencies to build successful mobile practices and pioneering innovative digital ad units. Representing Time Inc. on working groups with both the Interactive Advertising Bureau and Mobile Marketing Association, John helped develop the MRAID initiative leveraging HTML5 to standardize rich media ad specifications.
John has also been an active member of the Association of Magazine Media and the Online Publishers Association, and believes there is still a long runway ahead for print media to take best advantage of the great opportunities digital channels hold.
Mr. Josef Heinle - Sales Head.
Josef has more than 25 years of experience in multimedia, online and publishing industries. He has been working in Germany for HSB in making magazines and newspapers available to readers on the Internet. He was the pioneer of the digital newsstand business in Germany.
Josef has held several management positions at Siemens, Kleindienst, SHB, VTEL and NewsStand.
Josef works from Augsburg (Germany) and heads Magzter's sales efforts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Mr. Sebastiano Meneghello - Director - Content Acquisition.
Sebastiano is a media and sales professional with more than 18 years of international experience of which 8 years have been focused in the digital magazine business. During his extensive work experience in the Spanish, Italian and Latin American markets, he had the opportunity to broaden his knowledge of many different aspects of fast-growing digital and e-commerce companies as well as cross-platform publishing.
With a degree in Law from Italy, he has also specialized in International Copyright Laws.
He is based in Barcelona, and he is responsible for content acquisition in Spain and Latin America.
Srikanth is a media professional with more than 25 years of experience of which the last 4 years has been focused in the area of digital magazine business.
Previously he has worked with various leading media houses in India for Ad sales in Print, Magazines, Radio,Television& Outdoor.
Holds a degree in Commerce from University of Madras.
He is responsible for Magzter's Strategic Alliance initiatives across the region of Asia.
Abe is a digital leader in the media and entertainment industry with broad experience in product development and technology leadership in eCommerce, Mobile, User Experience, Content Management and Business Intelligence. Abe’s background is firmly rooted in supporting subscription based offerings and using consumer data to drive deeper engagement and higher retention. He has also been at the forefront in providing technology innovation in support of personalization, targeting and recommendation capabilities driving industry leading metrics for consumer retention and satisfaction.
Abe’s most recent position was at Time Inc. where he was a key leader in accelerating the transformation to digital. Abe was with Time Inc. for over 10 years and was named Chief Technology Officer in 2009.
Abe was the executive leading the strategy and core digital technologies in support of new business models and product development. He oversaw the technology development that led to a unique patented approach for driving subscription capabilities for the bundling of print and digital products. Abe also created and led an elite digital development group for mobile products that built and supported over 50+ apps with many receiving industry awards and recognition.
Before that he was Vice President of Technology at HBO leading application development and notably building HBO’s first direct to consumer offering for satellite subscribers.
In his 25+ years of experience with Time Warner, Abe is known for driving innovation and for being a proactive, knowledgeable and business-oriented leader that provides vision and expert execution.
He has a long and impressive track record of success in driving strategy and building core digital technologies in support of new business models and product development for many large digital, Internet and mobile efforts.
Abe is also a certified executive coach who enjoys helping and inspiring executives at all levels build and grow their leadership skills. He has helped mentor and develop countless staff and peers who have gone on to enjoy amazing successful careers.
Scott is a 23-year veteran of the publishing industry of which seven of those most recent years have been spent in the digital arena. His previous experiences at Zinio and GTxcel have seen exponential growth in the digital magazine market place. Since 2008, Scott has been responsible for bringing many top tier consumer publishers into the digital space as well as developing new business opportunities with non-traditional publishers – specifically professional sports organizations and travel industry brands.
He is based in New York and is directly responsible for Magzter’s content acquisition in the United States and Canada as well as overseeing content acquisition efforts globally.
On a personal note, Scott is a recreational tennis player and long-distance runner. He completed his first half marathon in June 2013.
Estefani’s background exemplifies a successful track record of career accomplishments with 12 years of professional experience managing advertising and marketing projects.
Previously she worked as Marketing Manager for Getty Images, Account Manager for Lowe and Partners, Grey Group, Ogilvy and Mather and DDB managing global accounts such as Diageo, McDonald’s, Unilever, Sab Miller and British American Tobacco.
In her spare time she is a music lover who loves to travel, take pictures and walking her dog Lima.
Estefani is based in Mexico City and she is in charge of Marketing and Sales for Mexico.
After graduating from the University of Cape Town in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts and both post - graduate marketing and Public Relations degrees, Suzy has worked in mobile, digital, gaming and tech for all her career, specialising in customer retention and CRM. She is passsionate about digital strategies and their results, and is a creative out-the-box thinker, always keeping her eye on the big picture.
She is based in Cape Town, but looks after the whole of the South Africa from a publishing and sales perspective.

He establishes excellent relationships with new clients & strengthens existing relationships with his self-motivated approach.

Takashi, who holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Tokyo, has over 30 years of experience working with a leading Japanese publishing company, Kodansha. He has handled multiple positions like Editor of Magazines and Director of Digital Marketing & Sales. He has also co-founded Natural Village company to create sustainable Eco-villages in Japan.
Some of Takashi's interests are meditation, yoga and traveling. He is responsible for content acquisition in Japan.
