Had it not been for Quake, Jerk Gustafsson might have been a bricklayer. Before he landed a role at Starbreeze Studios, the Swedish studio responsible for innovative firstperson games such as The Chronicles Of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay and The Darkness, Gustafsson had spent more than ten years working in a completely different field. “My father had his own construction companies,” he explains. “I worked with him for a long time, and I also did a lot of creative work. I did a lot of fireplaces and chimneys and stuff like that.”
