As we go into June, we are entering a really busy time for local officers, who will be involved in community events across West Lothian.

Busy month but important to highlight safety at events

Last weekend officers attended gala days, processions and flute band parades in Bathgate, Mid Calder, West Calder, Linlithgow, Armadale, Whitburn and Blackburn, managing traffic and ensuring public safety.

These annual events provide an excellent opportunity for police to be visible in their communities, and I would encourage you to approach and engage with these officers who are always happy to discuss any issues you may wish to raise. It is also a great way to introduce your children to the police in a safe and friendly environment.

In keeping with the summer theme and warmer weather I would take the opportunity to highlight the importance of water safety.
