Thompsons of Prudhoe demolishing Computer House in Gateshead

Thompsons of Prudhoe dates back to 1948 and was being run by the third generation of founders William and Margaret Thompson until it was sold last July to Yorkshire-based Ashcourt Group.

The firm began in the haulage business for mostly agricultural customers in Northumberland but over the years it expanded into demolition services, asbestos removal, quarrying, earthworks and contaminated land remediation.

Now the company has released accounts for the year ending June 2025 in which its turnover rose from £46.8m a year earlier to £57.1m.
