GOVT UNVEILS PERMANENT WINTER POLLUTION PLAN, NOVEMBER CURBS TO BEGIN ANNUALLY

Notification seeks to provide a framework to combat the city’s recurring winter air pollution crisis without requiring fresh notifications each year.

The notification, issued by the Department of Environment and Forest, consolidates multiple pollution-control measures into a single regulatory framework covering vehicular emissions, construction dust, waste burning, office functioning and institutional accountability.

The policy also aligns with the revised Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) issued by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) and directions of the Supreme Court.
