Leopard numbers rise in Asola Bhatti sanctuary

Leopard sightings have become an almost daily phenomenon inside Delhi’s Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary, with forest officials reporting a rise in the big cat population and describing the development as a sign of improving ecological health in the Aravalli landscape.
According to officials, the number of leopards in and around the sanctuary has increased from an estimated 12-14 animals in 2022 to around 16 at present, based on camera-trap records
