OVER the past month, I have written about legendary South African Papwa Sewgolum twice. I have never written a two-part column on any other individual.
That shows you how highly I hold Papwa in my esteem. And as always, I am a stickler for getting facts correct. This was ingrained into my psyche by my former editor Mr B Ramguthee. So, if there is one subject I am au fait with, it is our golfing hero, and I have done tons of research on his life and times.
In media, you need to have thick skin. You put your work out there and it is open to scrutiny by readers in this case.
Personally, I welcome positive criticism. When given with tasteful words, it gets digested easily. Not to undermine anyone or seek to glorify oneself.
