Local bodybuilder Mapula Colin, who has over 24 years of active gym training, was recently crowned champion at the IFBB South African Championships in the 40+ uncategorised category, held from September 11-13 at Junction Kloof in KwaZulu-Natal.
Colin, 'n voormalige skoonheidskoningin en padhardloper, het aan Polokwane Observer gesê dat haar reis na liggaamsbou 'n lang gekoesterde droom was.
"Ek het daarna gesmag om my fiksheid te verhoog en myself uit te daag om te sien net wat ek kan bereik," het sy gesê.
Haar man, ook haar assistent-afrigter en mentor, het aanvanklik kommer gehad oor die fisiese en huishoudelike impak van haar strewe, maar het haar ten volle ondersteun sodra sy toegewyd was.
