Police plea to stop buying bikes

Police are pleading with Renfrewshire parents to stop buying electric scooters and bikes for their children following a number of serious incidents in the area.

Officers from the Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Division took to social media yesterday to appeal to parents to "stop allowing their children to endanger themselves and others".

They even warned parents can be fined and have points added to their driving licence for purchasing a vehicle that is being driven illegally.

The appeal comes just one day after cops from Paisley Police Office observed a 16-year-old riding an electric dirt bike on Causeyside Street.
