US president Donald Trump announced a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon Thursday, saying the two sides agreed to halt hostilities following US-led talks aimed at easing regional tensions.
In a post on Truth Social on Thursday, the US president said he had held "excellent conversations" with Lebanon's president, Joseph Aoun, and Israel's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
