THE DOMESTIC AVIATION sector began FY27 on a subdued note, with passenger traffic declining year-on-year (y-o-y) in April amid elevated airfares, higher fuel costs and geopolitical disruptions weighing on travel demand, according to a report by ICRA.

- NITIN KUMAR

Domestic air passenger traffic stood at 14.08 million in April 2026, down 1.6% from 14.31 million a year earlier and 2% lower than 14.37 million recorded in March 2026, the ratings agency said in its latest aviation outlook released on Friday.
