Landlord died in city pub one month after it closed

A LANDLORD who reluctantly closed the doors of an Exeter pub was found dead inside the property, an inquest has heard.

During a brief public hearing held this month at County Hall, area coroner Alison Longhorn opened the inquest into the death of 53-year-old Dan Symns.
Ms Longhorn said that Mr Symns was born in the city and lived at the Port Royal Inn. She added his recorded place of death was the same property on February 25 this year.
She said that, at the time of his death, Mr Symns was single and a publican by profession.
