MP critical of NHS programme 'that doesn't really exist'

MP Marie Goldman has criticised the Government over the lack of an Intensive Recovery Support plan for one of the worst-performing NHS Trusts in the country.

In March, the then Health Secretary, Wes Streeting announced a new programme to support five of the worst-performing NHS trusts in the country. One was the trust that runs Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, the Mid and South Essex Foundation Trust (MSEFT).

Mrs Goldman wrote to the Government asking for more detail when she discovered that MSEFT was still waiting for information. She has now received a letter from the Government that she says confirms there is no plan. She has raised serious concerns after she said it was made clear in the Government's response that "there is no clear detail, direction or support underpinning the programme".
