Knife victim's pal tells of murder accused threats
A TEENAGER made vile threats of extreme violence against the 16-year-old he is accused of murdering, a court has been told.
Jay Stewart, 18, is accused of killing teenager Kayden Moy at Irvine Beach on May 17, 2025.
The High Court in Glasgow yesterday heard from Kayden's friend Jay McGarry, 18, who said he received a message on Instagram a month or two before Kayden’s death.
Jurors also heard from Kayden’s girlfriend, Keryn Knox, 19, who said she saw him being stabbed twice by 18-year-old Cole Turley.
An emotional Miss Knox described her boyfriend “turning white” and his lips going blue after the attack.
The murder charge says Stewart and his 15-year-old co-accused, while acting with Turley, pursued Kayden and caused him to fall to the ground before they repeatedly stabbed him on the body. It is alleged Stewart and the other teenager had previous ill-will and malice towards him.
Before the trial, Turley pled guilty to murder. The two youths on trial have lodged a special defence of incrimination against him.
Stewart also faces a charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards Jay McGarry.
