Two boys found alive four days after Venezuela earthquakes

TWO boys have been pulled from the rubble in earthquake-hit Venezuela, offering a glimmer of hope among the devastation that has left more than 1,400 dead.

Astonishing footage shows the 11-year-olds emerge from the twisted debris of their homes, hours apart.

First, Moises Calzadilla was recovered in La Guaira, four days after the South American country was rocked by two powerful quakes.

Colombia's National Unit for Disaster Risk Management said Moises was buried under about three metres of debris, and the rescue team spent six hours conducting "high-precision work" on Saturday to reach him.

Hours later, interim president Delcy Rodriguez announced another 11-year-old boy had been rescued in the town of Caraballeda.

Rodriguez wrote: "In these hours, every life is hope for Venezuela."
