Not because I am a big fan of tennis, I hasten to add. My total lack of hand-to-eye co-ordination and tendency to fall over regularly nudges anything involving a bat or racquet into the category of extreme sports for me. I also struggle to make head nor tail of how you play it with all the terminology.
No, my fascination with the tournament is sparked by the fashion it serves up thanks to the fact that every celebrity worth their designer sunglasses wants to be spotted courtside. Pun fully intended.
I love the easy breezy summer fashion on display. Oh, and the hair. I once devoted an entire column to my appreciation of the almost preternatural bounce and swing of Kim (wife of British champ Andy) Murray's crowning glory.
